The Pickle Smart Academy was founded in 2024. During the inaugural season the academy had 45 members. At the end of the first season nearly all members reported being satisfied with their academy experience (97%) and that the academy offered great value (100%).

The San Carlos Pickleball Club is one of the premier pickleball destinations in Latin America, offering world-class facilities, a warm and welcoming community, and a stunning seaside location that’s hard to beat. The facility features 14 beautifully maintained, lighted courts that allow for competitive and recreational play from early morning until late into the evening. The club runs weekly organized events, skill-based sessions, and hosts several large-scale tournaments that draw players from across Mexico, the US, and Canada. The academy founder, Kevin Duff, has been an avid pickleball player and instructor for over ten years, combining hands-on experience with a deep love for the sport. Kevin has a passion for studying the evolution of the game and for teaching new and innovative strategies that help players stay ahead of the curve. He is an IPTPA Level 2 certified instructor and serves as one of only two IPTPA Directors in Mexico. In addition to his pickleball expertise, Kevin brings a deep understanding of sports performance, injury prevention, and effective teaching methodology, drawing on his academic background with degrees in Kinesiology, Physical Therapy, and Public Health. His coaching approach is grounded in both research and real-world experience.
